Currently. April

Happy Friday friends! This week flew by, which is fantastic because I feel like each week I’m complaining about how slow time is moving. So I’ll take this change with a smile! It’s been awhile since I’ve caught you up with what’s currently going on in my life, so I thought today would be a good day for that!

Current book: Packing Light: Thoughts on Living Life with Less Baggage by Allison Vesterfelt. I bought this book on a whim when I went on my last book buying spree on Amazon, and wasn’t sure what to expect. Within the first couple of pages, I knew I would love it. I currently have marked it up with lots of notes and quotes to share, so when I finish it, you’ll probably be reading a review. I highly recommend!

Current music: I’ve been obsessed with this version of Total Eclipse of the Heart. And if you watched Grey’s last night, they played a really slow, kind of haunting version of I Want to Dance with Somebody. So I guess I’m loving slow, acoustic versions of pop classics right now.

Current guilty pleasure: Girl Scout cookies. I don’t want to talk about it.

cookiesNot girl scout cookies. But equally as awesome.

Current drink: Coffee. I took a break from coffee for awhile, but now I’m back on the addict train. It just tastes so good. And warms me up. And makes me smile.

Current food: Cottage cheese. I either love it or hate it. Currently, I’m loving it for breakfast with strawberries and bananas.

Current show: Hmmmm. I’m almost done with Breaking Bad. And I totally got sucked into The Walking Dead last weekend with my brother, so that is probably up next on my Netflix queue.

Breaking Bad

Current wish list: Warm weather. Sunshine. Not rain and clouds and infinite dreariness (unless it’s Sunday morning and I can curl up in my recliner with a cup of coffee and my favorite blanket).

Current triumphs: Does convincing my mom to use her Delta points to pay for my plane ticket to Utah for Blend count as a triumph? I say yup.

Current links: SO MANY.

Current needs: More free time. I feel like I don’t have time to breathe lately. Which is funny, coming from the person who was complaining about having nothing to do and hating Madison with a fiery passion 2 months ago. BALANCE PEOPLE! I guess I need balance…

Current indulgence: Hmmm…I’m going to have to go with the DiGiorno pizza Heidi and I ate last night. It was fabulous. In fact, I’m eating the leftovers, cold, at my desk as I type…

Current outfit: My sesame street pants that I put on within 30 seconds of getting home (#noseriouslyido). They are the bomb dot com. I told my mom to buy me another pair if she sees them again…which has made me realize that maybe I need to start dressing like someone my own age and not a 3 year old…

Current excitement: UW-Badgers playing in the Final Four on Saturday  night. Totally geeking out and am so hopeful that they kill it!

Current mood: Hmmm…you know, I’d have to say happy. Is this the first time I’ve said that for a Currently post? Again, it’s amazing what a little sunshine and taste of warm weather will do for your mood!

I’m looking forward to a pretty low key weekend in here in Madison, which I’m thrilled about. I haven’t had a week in Madison since mid-February — how is that possible? I’m going to the movies, babysitting (AND SEEING CHARLIE! Get ready for a post of just selfies of the two of us), making a ridiculously tasty quiche, a little retail therapy with Heidi – not too shabby!

For you new readers, this is Charlie, the sweet love of my life, who I lived with for a year. I’m still debating dog-napping him, and if you ask anyone close to me, I do have an all to real, step by step plan, on how I could dog nap him and live off the grid for about 6 months. That’s normal. Anyways, Monday’s post will just be pictures of him, so get pumped!

Your Turn:

  • What’s currently going on with you?
  • Plans this weekend? Doing anything fun?
  • Are you as excited as I am to see the Badgers WIN on Saturday?

  1. I didn’t know the Badgers were in the Final Four!! That’s awesome! I might actually watch, since my team (LSU) neverrrrr wins basketball. Ever. And I’ve basically adopted Wisconsin as one of my homes away from home anyway! I love those Sesame Street pants, I want some, and please bring me some of those cookies with the Hershey’s Kisses in the middle. That is all. Happy weekend!
